A conducting connection between an electrical device and the
earth, or another conducting body that serves in place of the earth.
A mechanisms used to vertically position a platform.
An established elevation in relation to sea level or another point.
A view of a structure in a vertical plane.
A guardrail placed across the end of a scaffold platform or its extensions.
ENERGY ABSORBER See Shock Absorber.
SHOCK-ABSORBER - A component of a system that allows dissipation of energy by extending the deceleration distance.
An alternative design or features that will provide an equal factor of safety.
A device designed to expand and grip the inside of a tube. Used for
joining tubes end to end.
TELESCOPING - The motion between two or more boom sections in a longitudinal direction to extend or retract the platform.
A platform capable of horizontal extension relative to the
EXTENSION BASE PLATE
Any device, other than an adjustment screw, used to obtain vertical
adjustment of a scaffold or shoring.
A work platform constructed of intermeshing sections designed so that
the sections slide in or out to provide a platform of the desired length.
A trestle ladder with an additional section which may be extended
for support of a platform.
A loop in a rope around a formed thimble made by fastening the end of the rope back onto itself.
